A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with a serious leg injury following a collison in Ryde earlier today (Monday).
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary were called just before 13:00 to a report of a collision on Salisbury Road, Ryde, involving a car and a motorbike.
At the scene, the rider of the motorbike – a man in his 30s – had been knocked from his bike and into the road. It is unclear how the collision occurred.
After more than 90-minutes, an ambulance finally arrived and took the rider to St Mary’s Hospital.
The force has confirmed that the rider suffered a serious leg injury.
Salisbury Road was closed between its junctions with High Park Road and Marlborough Road whilst the incident was dealt with.

I thought I read the other day they were the best in the
country.
So sad that this man had to endure a serious injury and pain for 90 minutes before an ambulance arrived. I hope that, luckily for him, he doesn’t suffer as a result of a failed response by the ambulance service.
Trauma needs a rapid and effective assessment as a priority – to rule out life or limb threatening injuries. 90 minutes is far to late to do this!!
Yet a few days ago I read the IW Ambulance service
are regional champions
Like most IW services they are inferior, how they won the
award the mind boggles.

if reform get into power and privatise the NHS (ok, move it to an insurance based model was the actual term farage used)..
if you need an ambulance.. better make sure you have your credit card on you!

As much as i feel sorry for the motorcyclist to have to wait so long for treatment, are you all so disillusioned to the fact that ambulances dont just sit on street corners waiting for a call.
They are prioritised to each incident that comes in so sometimes there are not enough ambulances to be dispatched to certain incidents.
Give your heads a wobble and consider this before putting on your drivel about our services and get a grip of reality.
Hope the rider makes a full recovery and well done our emergency services.
Many ambulances spend too long waiting around
at Hospitals etc when they could be attending to
patients in need.
Sounds like a case of bad management.
That’s mainly down to patient queues in casualty, the crews can only take their patient in when the casualty unit allow, it’s people waisting casualty time that blocks the system with ailments that could be seen by their GP.
Keep up the good work all you medics and I hope the motorcyclist is making a good recovery.
