Dimbola Museum & Galleries will host a special tribute to Pink Floyd’s ‘Wish You Were Here’ on Sunday (7th September), with singer-songwriter James Hollingsworth performing a live solo show.
Pink Floyd were founded in 1965 by Syd Barrett (guitar, lead vocals), Nick Mason(drums), Roger Waters (bass guitar, vocals) and Richard Wright (keyboards, vocals). Barrett was their main songwriter.
David Gilmore (guitar, vocals) joined in 1967; Barrett left in 1968 due to deteriorating mental health issues. Following Barrett’s departure, all four remaining members contributed compositions, though Waters became the primary lyricist and thematic leader, devising the concepts behind Pink Floyd’s most successful studio albums, The Dark Side of The Moon (1973), and Wish You Were Here (1975).
James will be presenting a solo show, using modern “looping” technology, with percussion, voice and guitar effects to build complex arrangements in real time. James has a unique, exciting acoustic guitar style.
