Bembridge RNLI’s All Weather Lifeboat was requested to launch by Solent Coastguard yesterday afternoon (Wednesday) to assist a 10.5m angling boat with a fouled prop.
The Tamar-class lifeboat hit the water at around 16:40 to go to the aid of the Chichester-based vessel with 7 persons on board which was located close to No Mans Land Fort.
Prior to reaching the casualty vessel, the volunteer RNLI crew were informed that the problem of a fouled prop had been resolved and assistance was no longer required.
The Alfred Albert Williams (16-17) returned to Bembridge Lifeboat Station and was recovered by 17:30.
