UPDATED: Fire crews from across the Isle of Wight are tackling a large barn fire at Ninham Farm near Apse Heath tonight (Thursday).
Appliances from Ryde, Sandown, Shanklin, Ventnor, Newport, Freshwater and East Cowes are all on scene.
They were alerted to the incident at just before 21:45.
UPDATE @ 23:25 – Firefighters are continuing to battle the blaze, which has engulfed the entire barn.
A total of 6 pumping appliances, 2 water carriers, the Incident Support Unit and the Incident Command Unit are on scene tonight.
Water is being supplied to the rural location by the 2 water carriers from Ventnor and Freshwater. A pump is also being utilised in a nearby pond.
The British Red Cross Fire and Emergency Support Unit volunteers are at Ninham assisting those affected.
UPDATE @ 23:57 – The fire has now been brought under control and appliances are beginning to stand down.
1 appliance from Ryde and a Water Carrier from Newport have already returned to station.
The barn is said to be used for storage purposes.
Thankfully, no one has been injured.
The cause of the fire is currently unclear.
UPDATE FRIDAY @ 07:33 – Sadly, it has been confirmed that the 20×15m barn has been completely destroyed by the fire.
Although no one has been injured, a vehicle, lawn mower and other items have all been lost.
Crews left the scene at 01:30.
