A woman and teenage boy arrested following the death of a man in Sandown have been released without charge after detectives concluded there were no suspicious circumstances.
As first reported by Island Echo, at 19:11 on Thursday 2nd July, officers were called by the ambulance service to a report that a man had been found with stab wounds at an address on Downsview, Sandown.
A man in his 50s was taken to hospital, but despite the best efforts of the emergency services, he sadly passed away.
Initially, Police arrested a 47-year-old woman and 14-year-old boy at the scene on suspicion of murder and wounding with intent.
Since this incident was reported to them, officers have worked hard to establish the circumstances of what had taken place, going over the scene with a fine-toothed comb.
As a result of these enquiries, Police say they don’t believe there are any suspicious circumstances concerning how the man died.

The woman and boy have this evening (Sunday) been released from custody without any further action to be taken against them.
Following the man’s death, a file will now be prepared for, and submitted to the coroner.
Isle of Wight Area Commander, Superintendent Marcus Cator, said:
“Firstly, I would like to place on record my thoughts for the man and his family at this extremely sad and difficult time.
“I would also like to thank all those we have spoken to over the last three days for their cooperation and assistance in our investigation. These investigations are always very challenging for those involved and the community as a whole.
“All involved have helped us to further our investigation at pace and begin to achieve some answers for the man’s family.”
