Wight Tri brought its summer Aquathon series to a close at Totland Bay on Friday (21st August), with competitors enjoying warm and calm racing conditions.
The well-attended swim-run event saw competitors complete either 1 or 2 200m laps around buoys in Totland Bay, followed by a 2.4km or 4.8km run to Colwell and back.
Elaine Spear oversaw water safety for the 18:30 start, taking to the water in a kayak to provide safety cover throughout the swimming element.
The event also welcomed 2 Aquathon newcomers, with Alison Hughes joining her husband Chris as part of a team and Charlie Squirrell opting to tackle both disciplines.
There were strong performances across the field, including a close sprint finish between Loic Le Floch and Lucy Doorly, with Loic narrowly coming out on top.
The competition was decided on nominated times, with Jess Goodall taking 1st place after finishing just 4 seconds outside her prediction.
The team of Mike Kimber and Loic Le Floch secured 2nd, finishing 12 seconds out, while Craig Wilson completed the podium in 3rd at 1 minute 34 seconds out.
