Wight Whisky, the first-ever whisky brand born on the Isle of Wight, has revealed its identity and its first release, the Signature Malt Blend. Shaped by the knowledge of those who came before them, Wight Whisky is experimental in nature, pushing boundaries and twisting up traditions in the pursuit of perfection. Their modern approach to whisky making ensures each bottle embodies the diverse nature of the Island they proudly call home. As Wight Whisky takes its first steps into the world of whisky, the team have opted for their first release to be a blend to enable them to establish the Wight Whisky brand and raise enough funds to distill and lay down additional casks of their original Isle of Wight single malt. These will mature over the next 3 years before being bottled and available to purchase in 2027. There will be opportunities to purchase your very own cask of their Isle of Wight Single Malt in the future too. Lucy Gregg, Co-Founder of Wight Whisky, says:
“Whisky is more than just a drink – it’s a product which encapsulates its landscape and the conditions surrounding it. The long, lingering sunshine days, salty sea air, and nutrient-rich soil on our island produce a barley like no other, enabling us to transform this simple, local ingredient into a seductively smooth, full-bodied whisky. “We are so proud to be working closely with fellow island businesses, and to be part of our island’s history as the first ever whisky brand born on the Isle of Wight. We’re very excited to introduce our island to the world of whisky”.
Real thought has gone into the product… only barley farmed on the Isle of Wight is used in their single malt whisky. Goddard’s Brewery has produced the finest whisky mash, brewed and fermented for over 7 days before the distilling process begins at New Farm in Brading – Wight Whisky’s rural HQ. The water is supplied by Wight Crystal and comes from the natural springs formed within the Island’s landscape, which is then used throughout the distilling and blending process. Care and attention has gone into the packaging too. The plastic-free bottle has been crafted from recyclable glass and features a sustainably sourced natural cork stopper and tamper-proof seal made from corn and potato starch, which composts in food waste recycling within 6-12 weeks. The labels are made from recyclable, biodegradable paper whilst the bottle is also re-usable and recyclable. Available in 2 sizes, 70cl and 5cl, Wight Whisky’s Signature Malt Blend is now available from their website www.wightwhisky.com and at selected retailers.

Shame it’s ridiculously overpriced….
Lets be honest here, all spirits basically tastes foul.
Who are the selected retailers? Have they released details of where the whiskey is served on the island?
More over priced tac, Bells or Teachers much cheaper and
does the job for me.
Over priced single malt a tac? Spoken like a true grain whisky drinker. I still like Bells but my palate for malts is still developing, and they are superb. Try one.
Bells or Teachers. So you don’t drink whiskey then?
I thought that Mermaid Gin already had a whiskey maturing.
Does it taste of garlic?
Does anyone actually check the way these items are made on the
Island?
I personally prefer buying my booze from trusted sources.
These products just like the Gin seem to be priced excessively.
