Indie rock band Wet Leg, who come from the Isle of Wight, have been nominated for 4 BRIT awards.
In the news, that was announced today (Thursday) they were nominated in the following categories; Group of the Year, Best New Artist, Mastercard Album of the Year and Best Rock/Alternative Act.
Hester Chambers and Rhian Teasdale, who make up the duo, have already been nominated for several Grammy awards.
Wet Leg leads the way in terms of nominations this year tied on 4 with Harry Styles, who they are due to support on his world tour this year.
Rhian Teasdale & Hester Chambers said today:
“Somebody hold our horses while we get to grips with this wild news – being nominated for a BRIT Award is too hard to comprehend. We never could have expected for our wee band to achieve this.”
Before Christmas, the band performed “Wet Dream” on ITV’s The Jonathan Ross Show and have been confirmed to play Coachella and Reading & Leeds Festivals.
It caps a remarkable 18 months since the band released their first single ‘Chaise Longue’.
