Treacherous conditions on the Island’s roads have seen another car overturned this morning (Tuesday), this time on a back road near Northwood.
The incident occurred at around 09:30 on Noke Common Road near Marks Corner.
Emergency services were called at around 09:3o but haven’t yet arrived.
This follows an earlier crash that occurred in Freshwater that has also seen a car end up with its wheels in the air, meanwhile around 14 accidents occurred on the Island’s roads last night (Monday) between the hours of 21:00 – 23:00.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
UPDATE @ 11:05 – Emergency services are still yet to attend the incident.
UPDATE @ 11:50 – The road is now clear and the car has been recovered. Neither police nor ambulance crews attended the scene.

Best don’t drive with odd tyres on the same axle it will not help you out when you need them
Many drivers tend to mount mismatched tyres on their vehicles trying to save some money. This is especially the case when only one tire becomes unserviceable. They may not know they endanger themselves and pedestrians
I’m sure you’re right, makes sense – I have no idea although I do remember the days of being advised not to mix crossply with radial. Once you’re slipping on the ice or aquaplaning, it won’t make a massive difference I guess. The number of tyres that one sees that are balder than I am, they’re definitely asking for trouble. And people with only one functioning headlight, dirty windscreens, tyres with different air pressures, bad brakes – any number of things. People struggling with heating and eating, high rents, etc, will most likely find it too costly to maintain their cars.
