Something similar happened same time yesterday!
However communication is somewhat lacking and commuters were left to guess what was happening. The app was no better.
Doesn’t help with only one operational craft.
So the relatively new 2 hovercraft fleet is almost always a naximum of 1, or less than that. So glad I stopped commuting with them in March 2020. I travel less often but on the cat. Despite Wightlinks well known issues, the cat has not let me down. Shameful lack of craft reliability Hovertravel.
It’s pretty poor right now…. but let’s not forget the facts hover carried on throughout covid, March 2020 onwards, where were the Wight ryders?
Surely it’s about time they won yet another self-congratulatory award isn’t it???
Surely its easier to say when they are running to time or runing at all
Last week we were refused boarding as it was full up, they said bookings only accepted, you book it on Trainline & assume you are booked on but have to make a separate one for Hovertravel & hence missed all my connections, I was fuming, it’s not acceptable travelling is so fraught at the moment with limited strike trains as well.
well they aren’t going to let you on if it is already full are they – this isn’t the third world with people hanging off the sides during the journey.
I have booked rail tickets through trainline before and they specifically state in the booking terms that you must contact Hovertravel in advance, if you wish to reserve a seat on the Hovercraft part of the ticket.
you did not read the terms on trainline – your mistake not the Hover staff
