Hovertravel is set to unveil a brand-new website and upgraded booking system today (Tuesday), marking a significant step forward in customer experience and operational efficiency.
The newly launched platform has been completely redesigned to deliver a cleaner, more modern and engaging user experience.
The redevelopment was shaped in part by feedback gathered from customers and the Hovertravel Users Group (HUG), with requests for an easier-to-navigate website and enhanced online tools to enable customers to book travel and manage their own accounts with greater ease.
With full cross-browser compatibility, users can expect a consistent, high-quality experience regardless of how they access the site.
The new system also integrates seamlessly with Hovertravel’s booking platform, enabling fast, reliable and secure transactions, alongside real-time updates.
In a further enhancement, customers can now book freight services online, selecting their preferred crossing, with parcel weights confirmed at check-in for a smoother process.
Alongside the digital upgrades, Hovertravel has introduced new technology and operational improvements within its terminals. The new booking system enables a more flexible approach to check-in, allowing staff to scan tickets in multiple locations depending on demand – whether at the entrance, in the waiting area, or near the boarding point. This means that at quieter times, customers may simply enter the terminal and take a seat until called forward.
Terminal spaces have also been enhanced, with expanded landside areas providing more indoor queuing capacity during peak periods, as well as increased seating. While external queues may still be required during exceptionally busy times, the improvements are designed to significantly enhance comfort and flow.
Additionally, terminal layouts have been refined, with check-in desks repositioned to create more space for passengers. Ticketing and check-in scanning points are now clearly defined and separated, helping to streamline the overall experience.
Speaking about the launch, Loretta Lale, Head of Marketing at Hovertravel, has said:
