Gritting lorries will once again be seen across the Island this evening (Tuesday) as they look to treat the roads and keep the Island moving safely.
Trucks from Island Roads will leave the depot at 19:00 to treat precautionary routes and treat the bridge decks at Stag Lane and Foxes Road in Newport.
A boost on any found wet spots will also be conducted as part of today’s gritting run.
This comes after cold weather continues to take hold of the Island with Met Office even warning of possible snow in the coming hours.
To find a list of all the Island's gritting routes, you can visit our dedicated Isle of Wight Gritting Routes & Winter Maintenance page.

Every bloomin year this seems to happen !
You would think that the IWC/IR’s would be more prepared.
Prevention is better then cure…..imo.
You are clearly bored and making comments for the sake of them.

Yes you are clearly board very sad and obviously don’t realise it!
Knowing the isle of wight thew same person that drives the gritter also drives the drain cleaning machine, they cannot do both.
Hey Barnie, you had your meds today ?
Or either.
Maybe summer gritting & winter drain cleaning .
