Heavy rain, thunder and lightning resulted in Saturday’s parade through the streets of Ryde being cancelled, much to the disappointment of the 750 children due to take part.
It is now hoped that a showcase of the hard work put in by over 30 groups can be arranged for mid-July, although an official date is yet to be set.
Groups will perform on stage to a carnival music track of their choice. A party atmosphere is expected with samba and other entertainment, and maybe even a BBQ.
