Friends of the Animals is celebrating its 36th anniversary, marking more than 3 decades of animal rescue and rehoming work on the Isle of Wight.
The organisation was founded 36 years ago by Helen Sinclair MBE, who began the group from her kitchen table with the aim of helping animals in need.
Since then, Friends of the Animals has grown into a volunteer-led organisation which says it has helped thousands of animals over the years through rescue, advocacy and education.
The charity has said its work over the past 36 years has included finding permanent homes for animals, providing veterinary care for vulnerable pets and supporting spay and neuter initiatives aimed at reducing overpopulation.
Friends of the Animals has also highlighted the role played by volunteers, foster carers, donors, adopters and partners in helping the organisation continue its work.
The charity says it is using the anniversary to recommit to protecting vulnerable animals, encouraging responsible pet ownership and continuing efforts to support animals in need across the Isle of Wight.
