The Cowes to East Cowes floating bridge is currently suspended this morning (Friday) as a result of a ‘minor’ technical issue.
The Isle of Wight Council says that a ‘minor’ repair is currently being undertaken.
They add that it is hoped service will be back up and running later this afternoon.
A launch service is currently in operation.
It is unclear as to whether or not the repair works are related to the issue that was encountered yesterday (Thursday) when the troublesome vessel was stuck in the middle of the River Medina for around 45 minutes after power cut out mid run.
UPDATE @ 17:00 – Floating bridge 6 is back up and running once again.

Icebergs causing a hazard apparently
I think it is terrible.
‘Minor’ technical issue. At ease everybody it’s only ‘minor’ nothing to worry about. Normal service resumed i.e. not running.
Whoop whoop here we go again!!!!
Probably fitting a new elastic band on it.
scrap the piece of junk
Scrap it.It’s never worked
Total waste of money
Scrap the floating bucket and build a bridge.
Then we can stop paying endless money for it and the very expensive passenger launch.
And here we go again twice in 1 week, and us tax payers r paying for the damn thing
Minor technical fault means the council refuse to say what was wrong ,due to a non disclosure arrangement
If it is minor why is out of service
Good job they purchased all the spare parts. Let’s hope they purchased enough of them.
Biggest joke on the island this embarrassment!! Waste of money SMH
