Crews from the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have been in attendance on the banks of the River Medina in Cowes following reports of a person stuck and in need of help this morning (Saturday).
Retained firefighters from Cowes were mobilised in their second shout of the night, alongside a wholetime crew from Newport, at 01:07.
The teams rushed to the scene on the banks of the Medina – in the vicinity of Arctic Road – with preparations being made for a potential rescue effort to get underway.
It became apparent soon after the Cowes appliance arrived on scene, however, that the person involved had managed to self rescue.
The team assessed the individual and gave words of advice having made sure that they were uninjured and unharmed.
Both crews stood down shortly after.
