It has been announced that the final Leave Rally of the Referendum Campaign will take place next Tuesday 21st June at the Broadway Centre in Sandown.
Conservative MPs Peter Bone and Tom Pursglove will be visiting the Island at the invitation of the Island’s MP Andrew Turner. They will speak about their vision for a successful and independent nation outside of the shackles of the European Union. The founding members of the Grassroots Out campaigning organisation had been due to visit the Island recently, but were unable to do so.
Mr Turner said:
“In the final few days of the campaign I wanted Islanders to have an opportunity to hear a really positive vision for the future of the UK if we vote to leave the EU next Thursday. Tom and Peter had planned to come to the Island for some time – but as is often the case in a busy campaign, plans went awry at the last minute. I’m grateful to them both for freeing up time in the diary to come on Tuesday”.
Peter Bone, the MP for Wellingborough and Rushden added:
“Tom and I were disappointed not to get across to the Island recently, but very pleased to accept Andrew’s invitation to hold a rally for supporters and undecided voters on the penultimate day of campaigning. The cross-party Isle of Wight Leave Campaign have been working hard, and getting a very positive reception on doorsteps – we will be supporting their efforts. We will also put forward a positive vision of a future outside Europe and answering any final questions Islanders may have before they vote next Thursday.”
All are welcome to attend the Rally, but as space is limited reserved places can be booked by e-mailing [email protected]. Those who have not booked will only be admitted up to the safe capacity of the room.
The event begins at 18:30.
