A cyclist from the Isle of Wight, Faye Faber, is one of only 44 women from the whole country to qualify for this year’s British Cycling National Time Trial Championships in Monmouthshire on the 26th June.
The event will include Olympic medallists Joanna Rowsell, Laura Trott and Dani King and current leader of the UCI Women’s World Cup Lizzie Armitstead. The men’s event, held later on the same day on the same course, includes the likes of Olympic Champion and Tour de France winner Sir Bradley Wiggins.
The 12.2 mile race takes place in the grounds and surrounding area of a country retreat in the Usk Valley over challenging, undulating terrain.
Faye lives and trains on the Island and can often be seen riding on the roads around Ventnor where she enjoys the challenging hills.
Good luck to Faye!
