Concerns for the welfare of an individual led to an emergency response to Cowes earlier this morning (Monday).
Police were alerted to a developing situation shortly before 05:30, the location of which led to assistance being requested from HM Coastguard.
Cowes RNLI Lifeboat was requested to launch and Coastguard Rescue Teams from Ventnor and The Needles were tasked to the scene.
Thankfully, the incident was quickly resolved and brought to a safe conclusion.
Search and rescue resources were stood down by 06:00 with the casualty in the care of the Police.
