Police are currently in attendance at a road traffic incident on a busy road in Newport this lunchtime (Friday).
The incident occurred at around 12:00 and has seen a crash take place near where Dodnor Lane meets Medina Way.
The incident has seen a silver Jaguar sustain heavy front-end damage after it collided with another vehicle, believed to be a silver Kia.
Heavily damaged, the vehicle is currently awaiting recovery.
1 Police unit remains at the scene.
UPDATE @ 13:07 – The vehicle has been recovered by Bartletts and the road is now completely clear.





























































































It’s very clear, the accident came about due to lack of concentration ie without due care and attention. I wonder if they were adjusting the heater or checking their phone.
Modern dashboards are lit up like an aircraft control panel. No time to watch the road.
“No time to watch the road”… Really? You actually think that the digital telemetry on the dashboard is in any way more important than your exterior environment? If you or anyone else can’t tear yourself away from the dashboard long enough to drive safely then it’s time to get the bus.

You have missed the point. Outside lighting: shops, digital headlamps, even road works traffic lights are much brighter than they used to be. Even warnings about ducks and badgers are reflective.It seems to be a race between outside unnecessary ultra bright signs & interior brightly lit gadgets.
Yes and essential controls like fast windscreen demisting are usually below the radio / entertainment controls at about knee level.
