The Isle of Wight Festival 2021, which this year will be held in September, will see performances from the likes of Liam Gallagher, Snow Patrol, David Guetta, Duran Duran, Sir Tom Jones, The Script, James Arthur, All Saints and Razorlight it has been announced this morning (Friday).
With the COVID pandemic easing and life expected to return to near normality from June, organisers of the Isle of Wight Festival are confident they will be able to stage a ‘Best of British’ festival between 16th-19th September – the first time the Seaclose Park festival has been held outside of its normal June spot.
Normally the first major festival of the season, for 2021 it will be the last but it certainly won’t be one to be forgotten. A stellar line-up includes all of those named above plus Scouting for Girls, The Script, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Primal Scream, Supergrass, Sigma, Kaiser Chiefs, Example, Ella Henderson, Lawson, Imelda May, James, Becky Hill, You Me At Six, Lona, Sam Fender, Lightning Seeds, Roachford, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly, The K’s, Megan McKenna and Seasick Steve.
Although there are some changes to the cancelled 2020 festival line-up, Liam Gallagher will still headline the Friday night with Duran Duran closing the show in style on Sunday. Duran Duran were a massive hit when they played Bestival at Robin Hill in 2015. Saturday night will be headlined by Snow Patrol and David Guetta.

Other acts to appear at Seaclose this year include Chinchilla, James Vincent McMorrow, Are you Experience?, FooR, Shed Seven, The Snuts, Lucy Blue, Charlotte Jane, Sam Feldt, Maximo Park, The Manor, Stone, Dylan John Thomas, Rebecca Hurn, Maisie Peters, New Rules, Lyra, Jasmine Jethwa and Wet Leg.
John Giddings has said:
“Our audience always has an incredible time at the festival and we’re thrilled with the line-up on offer for them. It’s a fantastic array of artists; from icons to emerging talent and not forgetting everything still to come from additional stages across the festival.
“Over the coming months we’ll be watching and learning from the events taking place before us and, of course, liaising with all the relevant authorities to make sure everyone – audience, artists, staff, the community – is kept safe. See you in September!”

What a load of rubbish
Pants line up cherry picked from the last few years. Hope you all enjoy mud, masks and minging food.
Shouldn’t even be going ahead. Until this pandemic is properly under control! Chuffing selfish idiots
It might be by September!! It might not be!! It’s an unknown so none of us can comment really as we do NOT know!! BUT in the meantime let’s allow a bit of positivity and something to look forward to instead of constant doom and gloom!!
Yeah because there is a ‘pandemic’. Idiot.
Ok yes thats great but what happened to Lionel Ritchie? Can the tickets be bounced on to next year?
Mr Giddings is very persistent isn’t he. Most people know this should not being even thought of this year, that’s common sense, and why are the council being so quiet on this one.
Crowds cannot social distance, and the cry of “oh it’s safer outside in a crowd” maybe true with a small group of people but NOT that many, Stupid idea.
A huge number of festivals, sports events, etc are happening all over the country, before this happens. It’s perfectly safe.
Can you guarantee that?
We had tickets to 2 concerts this year that were booked for last year. Both have confirmed postponed to 2022; why is the IOW festival being allowed.
What an absolute crap line up. If that’s the best he can come up with he should pack it in
Wouldn’t watch this lot if they were playing in my street. They are mostly has beens or never weres
Absolutely disgusting that this is even going ahead even in September. It should be cancelled again for this year. As usual organisers & council putting profit before people.so so they can line their own pockets at the expense & risk of Island Residents. This virus will not have gone & will run riot through such a gathering. Still September one can only hope its cold, very wet & gale force winds
What a nasty person you are
Don’t forget the £10m or so that line the pockets of the IOW economy, being the local business and manpower. Would love to know what risk to the Island residents you think there is.
‘Would love to know what risk to Island residents……….. Well if you don’t honestly know there’s no hope for you. Take a bit of time out and have a good think. A little clue is when we were in tier1 and when all and sundry were allowed over well I don’t have to write the result.
By September the vast majority (if not all) of the island will be vaccinated except idiots who refuse to get the jab.
Didn’t need to take time off and think and there is plenty of hope for everyone. Tier 1 argument is irrelevant. The virus was out of control in the rest of the country and the Islanders were as much to blame bringing the virus back over here, also there were no vaccines. The whole country will be vaccinated in September, that in itself will keep the cases low. it is outdoors, transmission is18.7 times less than indoors. The vaccine reduces transmission by 30%. So when you say there is no hope for me, may I suggest look up the facts yourself and change your view, because it is factually incorrect.
No way will I change my view. I suggest you look up the facts of having the vaccinations and the advise with it. Good luck if you go to this festival , have fun . Pay extortionate prices for your food and drinks. With the forecasted number that will attend it’ll be impossible to socially distance. God forbid if you catch covid. With the crap line up will it be worth it. Stay safe.
Shouldn’t worry too much. With that line up, he’ll be lucky to sell 50 tickets, let alone 50,000.
Actually the weather has been very pleasant the past few Septembers. Folk might well have a more dry and nice time than in June!!!
Get used to it .the holiday let near me is fully booked until the end of the year .
It should not be allowed until the pandemic is well and truly over.
The show won’t go on without IoW Council approval, meaning issuing a license, and that has not, and cannot be issued yet. I think the press would be wise to mention that in their articles. As it stands at the moment the show can’t go on, it has not been issued the correct license, it is not a given….
Never heard of half of them !!
What a “crock of s.. t….. What is this jack up the 80’s dressed up Giddings style? Can bought tickets be refunded or rolled on to a better line up” see those flying pugs”next year?.
Oh dear my previous comment about what the man himself said about vaccines has been taken down ! Must have asked for it himself … if you don’t like the truth Mr G !!!
Can you imagine how 50000 people can abide social distancing in seaclose park. You only need one infected person amongst the crowd and over 4 days it will spread rapidly. These people will then go back home and infect more people where they live, including IOW residents. Pure greed by Giddings and the IOW council, and more deaths.
Has Mr Giddings forgotten that he gave Jess Glynne a lifetime ban and said “she will never perform at the Isle of Wight Festival again” – after the fiasco last time when she didn’t turn up because she was out partying with the Spice Girls ????
