A man offering 2 children sweets near a holiday park in Shanklin has prompted further concerns amongst local parents following similar incidents in Sandown and Newport in recent weeks.
It’s said that 2 young boys were approached by the stranger on a rural path between Landguard and Lower Hyde early on Thursday morning, sometime between 07:35 and 08:05.
The youngsters did the right thing in quickly leaving the area on their scooters, reporting the incident to their parents. The Police have since been informed.
Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed that they have received reports of a man acting suspiciously close to Lower Hyde Holiday Park, stating that a boy was approached by an unknown man and was offered sweets.
Police say no offences have been disclosed.
Just yesterday Island Echo reported that an 11-year-old child was approached near to Sandown Train Station on Thursday.
Last month a child was offered sweets on Caesars Road in Newport, with another child approached and offered sweets in Carisbrooke on 7th May.
