A Coastguard Rescue Helicopter from Wales is assisting with the medical evacuation of an injured walker from the top of Tennyson Down this afternoon (Thursday).
The nearby Needles Coastguard Rescue Team was tasked to the incident at around 13:00 after a walker injured themselves on the popular Freshwater walking route.
It is believed that the casualty has broken their leg.
The helicopter landed up on the down at around 14:50.
UPDATE @ 15:20 – It is believed the casualty has been transferred to St Mary’s Hospital by land ambulance, whilst the Coastguard Rescue Helicopter is on its way back to South Wales.

Maybe they should stop elderly people going up there unattended.
