Numerous Island Line services have been cancelled this evening (Saturday) due to an absence of signalling staff.
The 18:46, 19:46, 20:46, 21:46 and 22:45 from Shanklin to Ryde Esplanade and the 19:16, 20:16, 21:16 and 22:16 in the other direction have all been cancelled.
Also cancelled is the 23:17 from Ryde Esplanade to St John’s Road is also cancelled.
Island Line have apologised for the inconvenience caused.
Waste of space always some excuse …we need a reliable service ,,,,,,

The councillors are busy running their very own transport, the wonderful, 100% efficient and top secret floating bridge.
From my knowledge Hovertravel are on volume 978 of excuses this year alone
Southern Vectis’ service is bloody awful too.

Love the evocative smell of coal and wood smoke as the nights draw in and the home fires are alight. Energy that drove the Industrial Revolution and provided transport though the ages. Wonderful stuff.

Awful service, no wonder our brightest and best dont want to come to the island. No bus replacement, no staff to sort out this mess, just awful service. Island Line is a joke, this would not stand on the mainland, why should we tolerate this awful service on the island.
SWR’s service (or lack of it) is no better on the mainland. If they have a week’s notice they can put on a bus replacement service, but anything less and you, the passenger, are left to your own devices.
I don’t understand why it has got so bad here. There’s always been a few issues but this past year has been ridiculous!! Is it really staff off? Is it that since COVID people have got lazy and know they can use the ‘sick card’ at any opportunity? I don’t understand what is going on. It’s daily now and on all services.
Transport on our Island is a complete and utter shambles. They charge extortionate prices and we’re the ones who are brought to account, mainland businesses wouldn’t last five minutes if they treated the public this way. It’s an illegal cartel that should be investigated and punished..unfortunately, we as “customers” can absolutely do sweet FA. C’mon powers that be, start earning your exceeding high salaries.
Why are the public transport services on the Island so poor?
Nothing seems to run according to schedule anymore and no one seems to care about anymore.
Even when services are late or cancelled its rare to get even the most worthless apology.
Its about time that our wonderfulP got his finger out!!!
