Police are appealing for any witnesses to an unprovoked assault on a female in Newport High Street on Saturday afternoon to come forward.
Ar around 16:00 the victim was walking along with her shopping when another female ran towards her with a shoe in her hand and hit the victim in the face.
The wanted female is to have been with a male and another female and ran off towards Yates. Another male and female approached the victim and outlined that the same female had just hit the male in the chest with the shoe.
Officers investigating the incident are seeking to identify the male that was also assaulted and anyone else that saw the unprovoked assault.
