2 youngsters were arrested – and then subsequently de-arrested – this morning (Friday) after messing about with trolleys and pallets belonging to Tesco in Ryde.
Police were called just before 9:20 to a report of 2 adolescent males causing damage to trolleys and pallets which belonged to Tesco Extra off Brading Road.
The youngsters were subsequently greeted by 2 officers, including 1 unmarked dog unit vehicle, who searched and arrested the pair on suspicion of criminal damage.
The arrest took place across the road from Tesco, in the car park of 1Leisure, Westridge.
However, a spokesperson for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has since confirmed that, following enquiries, the 2 detainees were subsequently de-arrested.
So they weren’t damaging anything?
Seems a bit stupid when you have people actively stealing, causing real criminal damage, dealing substances, & more?? I mean don’t mess around with things that don’t belong to you but it seems like a waste of resources for 2 youths who are messing around with trolleys & such..
Or vehicles driving at dangerous speeds towards
oncoming traffic this evening along Marlborough road
in Ryde.
Sadly there is no law and order on the island
it’s becoming a joke.
You have obviously not heard of the broken window syndrome Mr B. It’s indisputable that one of the most important factors contributing to the state the nation is in is the lack of simple training of the young as to what is not acceptable behavior. Turning a blind eye to small misdemeanours from rowdy behavior through littering, vandalism and other anti- social behavior makes it okay and teaches youngsters that they can do what they like and get away with it. Or do you know better?
Law and order no longer exists in Britain
So we’re just expected to let kids run feral and not be taught a lesson in messing around with property that isn’t yours? People who cause, quote unquote, “real criminal damage, dealing substances and more” generally don’t do it in broad daylight with witnesses passing around them. It’s hard to catch criminals in the act when they’re being inconspicuous and nobody is around to see them do it.
Anything minimum effort & they’ll be there! Big violent fight among yobs & not-much-better staff at The Crispin in Newport however & they will literally drive past without stopping! Probably time for their kebab break.

So the police made a false arrest without really any evidence just hearsay and no such thing really as de-arrest
Did the one on the right eat one of the trolleys?
A short sharp lesson, de arrested so I presume they will not have a police record, so it might be a deterrent for the future.
Really think the Police should start Marking their DOGS !!
So feral brats causing trouble yet again and sod all done to prevent them doing it again tomorrow.
