The Isle of Wight Youth Trust has launched the search for a new Trustee to join their Board of Trustees.
The Youth Trust, a local charity providing mental health and emotional wellbeing services for young people aged 4-25 years on the Isle of Wight, supported over 1,300 young people last year and is continuing to expand.
Chair of Trustees, Malcolm Marshall, explains that the charity is seeking someone with a background in accounting or finance to join the dynamic team responsible for the governance of this vital Island charity:
“Over the past five years, the Youth Trust has significantly expanded and with the outbreak of COVID-19, we have developed some key new areas of work to meet the needs of young Islanders. We have an exceptional breadth and depth of knowledge on our board and are seeking to further strengthen our governance with the addition of this new Trustee position.” He said.
“Volunteering on the Board of the Youth Trust is truly a rewarding experience. It’s an opportunity to contribute to one of the Island’s gems – a local charity that has been championing young people’s mental health and wellbeing for over 35 years.
“We hope to attract a diverse range of applicants to this post and as supporters of the Young Trustees Movement are particularly keen to see those under 30, who might be looking for an opportunity for personal and professional development at Board level to apply”.

“Particularly keen to see those under 30” could be seen as potentially descriminatory on grounds of age, as defined by 2010 Equality Act. Suggest hire a lawyer rather than an accountant.
