
The 2021 cross country season has started well for several young members of the Isle of Wight athletics club.
The first 2 races of the Hampshire Cross Country League provided some excellent racing with 2 Island athletes being selected to represent the Hampshire County Team at the Southern Inter-County Championships in Croydon on 11th December.
The results of race 1 in Bournemouth were Freya Taylor U15 Girls 40th; Archie Pearson U15 Boys 3rd; Maisey Kent U17 Women 8th and Noah Patey U17 Men 30th.
Race 2 was more of the same competitive racing with Freya Taylor finishing 22nd, Maisey Kent 8th and Noah Patey 28th.
Archie Pearson and Maisey Kent will represent Hampshire in their respective age groups in Croydon on Saturday.
A spokesperson for the club has said:
“Well done to the IOW junior triathlon team who also raced at both events, with one of their athletes Katie Bunn being selected to represent the Hampshire team”.
