Doorbell ringing late at night and food being thrown at people’s houses have sparked concern amongst Seaview residents who have reported several disturbances over the summer months.
Island First Network representative, Jules Hayward, described multiple local disturbances over the summer months to the Nettlestone and Seaview Parish Council earlier this week (Tuesday).
It was here that she said the doorbell buzzing had “felt quite harassing” for single occupants and that eggs, fruit and vegetables were launched at homes on Rowantree Drive.
Councillor Hayward also described issues up at the Haven whereby some young people were causing disruption to the quiet village.
Cllr Hayward said:
“Also, I spoke to the Jolly Fryer fish and chip van this week when I was picking up my fish and chips.
“They were saying in 30 plus years of business, they’ve never had to lock their cab in their van, but they did have to last week following some quite threatening behaviour by some young people.”
She highlighted information gathering, including camera footage, and has been in contact with PC Andrew Emery over the issue.
She told the Parish Council that following a discussion with PC Andrew Emery, he told her that he would like to build a case in order to ensure that those repsonsibile understand that their behaviour in unacceptable.
