The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, now supported by the HEMS team, is attending a residential address on Rectory Drive.
The air ambulance was also called into action late this afternoon when an individual suffered a cardiac arrest on the beach at Seagrove Bay, as previously reported by Island Echo.
UPDATE @ 22:07 – The air ambulance has now lifted off from the Rec after more than 90 minutes on the ground.
The patient is being conveyed to Southampton General Hospital for further, specialist treatment.
Build a Bridge.Save Thousands of pounds …
Poor time to bring this up,have some respect.
Build a Bridge cost Millions and Millions if not Billions of Pounds and turn the Island into an extension of the Mainland, call that progress? Its an ISLAND! Build a hospital that can cope and save money.
Still not as quick as a heli plus they can do more than a normal paramedic in the case if a cardiac arrest so no a bridge wouldn’t be quicker
Yawn!
To save life its quicker by helicopter than by a Bridge link .
Build a bridge . COST MILLIONS of pounds…
I happend to mention the same thing on another report and I only got 11 dislikes.
Now I’ve got ‘dislike’ envy, lol.
Sincerely hope the person recovers well. Thoughts to family & friends.Thank goodness for the great services & medics.
Robot. If you are not happy with the island as it is, then I would seem nd you that the ferry goes both ways. Please feel free to use it!
Thank goodness for the Air Ambulance, many lives been saved by this organisation, even with a bridge time is the essence round stokes and heart attacks so the Air Ambulance would have still been use they just need more financial support.
Our air ambulance is an essential service and I for one am grateful we have this service available….
Hope the patient makes a swift recovery …
Thinking of their family and friends ….
