Flats at the centre of anti-social behaviour and criminality will remain closed for another 4 months after magistrates granted Police applications to extend existing closure orders.
The closure orders on Flat 2A, West Street in Newport, and Flat 5, Nipper Court – also on West Street – have been extended by a further 114 days following applications heard by magistrates last week.
Originally imposed on 20th May, the orders were extended under Section 82 of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.
The extensions mean both properties must remain closed until the new expiry date as part of Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary’s ongoing efforts to tackle nuisance, disorder and criminal behaviour in the area.
