Following a very successful week at the Island Games, the Wightlink-LCM Systems Cycle Race Team members have now returned to trade colours for the rest of the racing season.
On Tuesday (21st July), team rider Stuart Waite travelled to Thruxton Motor Circuit and lined up against 70 riders to take part in the 3rd category race.
From the start there were many teams trying to form breakaways and Waite was working hard to stop any of these from getting clear.
With two laps to go a group of seven riders managed to get clear of the field. Waite tried to pull it back but the finish came too soon.
Leading into the last lap, Waite held off any more attacks and won the bunch sprint for 8th place.
