A family home in Cowes has been badly damaged by a car that has ploughed through the front window this afternoon (Friday).
Emergency services responded to the scene at St Mary’s Road, where a vehicle has smashed into the front of a terraced property.
It’s understood the driver lost control of the vehicle as they exited Cross Street car park at around 14:30.
Police temporarily locked the area down as medics tended to those involved, with the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service mobilising an ambulance crew and critical care paramedic to the scene.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service responded with 3 fire appliances and the Rescue Support Vehicle.
Motorists in the one way system around Denmark Road and St Mary’s Road were being diverted locally via High Street, however are now back to using the normal route.
