The village of St Helens is once again hosting angels of all shapes and sizes to raise money for the local youth club project.
Over 30 angels, many made from recycled materials, can be found on display in gardens and on the village green for the annual ‘Village of Angels’ event.
This year’s winner in the adult category is ‘Kyaribaggu’, made by Wendy Hayden. In second place is ‘Surfer Girl’, by Helen Wade and in third place is ‘The Washed Up Angel’, by Peta Rainford.
In the children’s category, first prize has been awarded to Emily Moring with ‘Rosie’, second prize has been jointly awarded to Ellie and Toby Bradstock for ‘Ballroom Angel & Robot Angel’ and in third place is ‘Starry Angel’ by Abbie Ferrier.
While this year the event could not be launched with the usual carols and switching on of the Christmas Tree lights, there was still a raffle draw on Saturday evening hosted by The Vine, which was broadcast online. It raised £300.
The angels will remain on display throughout December. To help you find them a map is available from the Village post office where it is also possible to leave donations to help with fundraising.

Correction: Second prize in the children’s category went to Ella and Toby Afonso. 🙂
