A proposal for 9 ‘much-needed’ houses on land in Wootton has resurfaced in a revised form with a new footpath.
Tradeamp’s planning application to build 9x 3-bedroom homes next to 115 Station Road in Wootton Bridge with a new vehicle access and related landscaping has been readvertised on County Hall’s planning portal.
The application has previously received criticism from residents.
Proposed housing includes 4 bungalows and 5 ‘chalet style houses’, according to a statement from the applicant’s agent, Phil Salmon Planning.
Changes to submitted plans include a new footpath added between plots 5 and 9, to connect to Station Road, and the removal of an uncontrolled crossing opposite 96 Station Road.
A series of new documents have also been lodged with the council such as a draft habitat management and monitoring plan, biodiversity net gain assessment and post-development habitat plan.
Wootton Bridge Parish Council previously told County Hall:
“Wootton Bridge Parish Council has no objections to planning application 25/00253/FUL. We are disappointed that there is no provision for one and two bedroom accommodation which is badly needed in Wootton, as evidenced by our 2018 housing needs survey.
“None have been built since the survey was undertaken.”
Members of the public can comment on the proposal until 20th March and a decision is scheduled for 14th April.

Much needed my a@se
The new homes in Bembridge remain UNSOLD
not to mention plenty of other new UNSOLD homes
around the island.
Also there are thousands of homes for sale on rightmove
not to mention all the old derelict hotels, ice rink and
holiday camp in Puckpool.
Much needed, don’t make me laugh!
It’s not that housing is much needed, there are thousands of houses already. What they really mean is much needed FREE houses for the chavs
There are plenty of chavs on the island but no
chav homes for them.
Thatcher sold off the Chav homes.
If you soend a few minutes browsing a well known online site that sells properties you can see how many properties are available on the island so the requirement for further development fall at the first hurdle. Now any monies that can be extracted from developers under the terms of 105 seems to disappear into the council coffers never to be seen again.
More concreted over soak away fields causing more flooding for every other poor sods home already there
Why not just fill the whole uk with concrete and houses and fill them with more and more people arriving every day? What could go wrong?
The country is bursting at the seams.
More homes for people who already have homes . More profits for land grabbers.
