Breakfast at The ViewA brand-new cafe – The View – has just opened its doors to customers in St Helens. The cafe is the brainchild of former journalist Louise Hill and Jane Giden – who ran the Shoreside Cafe on East Cowes Esplanade until last year. The view offers hearty English breakfasts (including a vegetarian option) as well as crumpets, bagels and pancakes in the morning. At lunchtime, there is a range of British staples (such as bangers and mash) as well as Italian cuisine on offer. Children are catered for with a special menu and there is a variety of homemade cakes available. The View is based at Fakenham Farm, on Eddington Road in St Helens, near Nodes Point Holiday Park. Other business at Fakenham Farm include The Coastal Gardner, Goose Island Studio, Fort View Tyres, Oddnobs Emporium and Fakenham Farm Campsite. The View, St Helens Owners Louise Hill and Jane Giden have said:
“We are very excited to be starting this new chapter in St Helens and joining the wonderful community at Fakenham Farm. “It has been hard work to get to where we are but we are so proud of how it has turned out. “We cannot wait to start meeting everyone and getting involved in the village life.”

I hope they don’t play music, especially in the mornings. Finding somewhere to eat and converse in peace is as rare as hens’ teeth. Had to leave this place when owners in the past insisted on having the radio blaring throughout the cafe.
Most cafes and restaurants on the island charge more than London prices. They have lost the plot. I suppose that many are trying to make a year’s worth of money in the few weeks when they are actually busy.

Live a little maria, Christ.
You could have asked them to turn the bloody radio off.
Looks very nice, hope the prices are sensible.
Too many places on the island are overcharging for food and drink
Many establishments are more expensive than London Cafes.

Very true, but they don’t reduce their prices off season, so their greed is their loss.
Great cafe for meals at all times of the day. Not only vegetarian, but vegan and gluten free options are also available. Large portions too!
