Visitors to last month’s Isle of Wight Classic Buses, Beer and Walks Weekend have voted The Buddle Inn at Niton as top pub for the third successive year.
Participants in the 2-day event are given the opportunity each year to vote for their favourite pub. Once again The Buddle won by a clear margin. The Three Bishops at Brighstone came in second place, with The Volunteer in Ventnor taking third place.
Mandi O’Reilly, landlady at the Buddle said:
“I look forward to Beer & Buses more than Christmas! It was a busy weekend for us, but very enjoyable.
“We are delighted to win for the third time, but next year we would like to give another pub a chance to take the shield. We will “sit out” 2017, but watch out for us in 2018!”.
Tim Marshall, of the Isle of Wight branch of CAMRA, said:
“CAMRA on the island has always been an innovative branch and Beer and Buses is a classic example. It’s a beer festival that actually sends drinkers into the pubs, as opposed to festivals held in tents or halls. The event couldn’t take place without our band of hard working CAMRA volunteers, some of whom came over from the mainland.”
