7 riders from the Isle of Wight travelled to compete in the Test Valley 10 mile time trial on Saturday (5th March) with great success.
The course was relatively flat out with a heavy surface, with the strong headwind on the return leg making for a tough race.
Riders from both the Wighlink/Offshore Race Team – Dave Dent and Michelle Lock – and the newly formed Isle of Wight Cycling Club – Faye Faber, Liam Somerville, Jason Hayles, Hollie Dowling and Cole Pearce – put in great rides.
Dent and Hayles both won their age category and Faber took home the women’s event by a solid 2 minutes.
With the race season rapidly gaining momentum many of these riders will now aim to qualify for National and International events.
