The Isle of Wight is set for an exceptionally hot Wednesday, with local forecaster IW Met Service forecasting wall-to-wall sunshine and temperatures potentially reaching 38c in some central parts of the Island.
Most areas are expected to see temperatures between 34c and 36c, although locations exposed to the breeze along windward coasts are likely to remain significantly cooler at around 27c.
A light north-easterly wind of 4-9mph is forecast during the morning before increasing to between 11mph and 17mph later in the day.
According to IW Met Service, the combination of unbroken sunshine and light winds will create very hot conditions across much of the Island, with inland areas expected to experience the highest temperatures.
Residents are being urged to take precautions in the heat, stay hydrated and seek cooler conditions where possible.
