An 18-year-old girl who was arrested on suspicion of murder in Ryde on Friday has been released under investigation, Police have confirmed.
As previously reported by Island Echo, the teenager was arrested at an address on St John’s Road at around 08:40 on Friday morning as part of an investigation into the death of 20-year-old Tamba Momodou.
Mr Momodou died in the West Midlands back in October 2020 when he was shot multiple times.
Detectives from West Merica Police have been continuing their investigations into the 20-year-old’s murder, which led to the arrest here on the Isle of Wight. A second arrest was conducted in Southampton on Friday also – it was initially understood the second arrest had taken place in Ryde too.
Around 19 people have now been arrested in connection with Mr Momodou’s death. A £10,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to a conviction.

Lock ’em all up, feed ’em only bread and water and throw away the key!
Lay with dogs, you get fleas.
So they let a potential murderer back out on the street, I wonder if this person will “Do a Runner”, why the hell let them out…..
So fed up of reading about these dregs. their numbers have been increasing more and more year after year. Now society seems swamped by them. This country has become a cesspit, helped along by the social reformers and do good brigade who always feel the kindest about the worst types of people.
