SUN SHINES FOR AIR AMBULANCE FUN DAY

airambulancefundaysandown2A fun and interesting day was had by all at Sandown Airport on Saturday for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance fun day.

Hundreds of people joined the charity to see various entertainers from across the island, stalls and displays from other emergency services including HM Coastguard, Police and the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service.

The bright yellow helicopter and its crew were able to make the trip from the charity’s base in Andover to Sandown, providing visitors the chance to get up close to the life-saving aircraft.

It currently costs in excess of £230,000 a month for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance to maintain its life saving service. The charity receives no Government or National Lottery funding for routine operations.
