Police are searching for the driver of a Skoda Fabia following a road traffic collision in East Cowes this evening (Tuesday).
A blue Skoda Fabia has ploughed into a parked VW Tigun on Saunders Way, close to the entrance with GKN Aerospace.
Island Echo understands the occupants of the Fabia – a male, a female and a younger female – fled the scene.
The Skoda is insured, taxed and MOTed but is thought to be stolen.
Significant damage has been sustained to both vehicles, which are now being recovered.
Police are on scene but the road remains open.

And todays crash is……… obviously the driver was drunk or high on drugs.
Obviously the scummy little shits had either knicked it, had no license or were under the influence, why else would you run if its taxed and mot’d,, selfish idiots
It says ‘thought to be stolen’ ….
Drunk, or likely drugged, ran off to wait till the ‘evidence’ has left the body. Then say they just had a panic attack.
Do them for the being over the limit and leaving an accident and leaving a car blocking the road, and wasted police time and perverting the course of justice, and of course bad driving.
Take the car, impound it for evidence, fine them, and take away licence for three years.
Or a small fine, and a benefit of the doubt leniency.
Wonder ‘which’ it will be.
The reg number would help could be solved in a matter of minutes then. Saving police time and tax payers money
it says its thought to be stolen. Clearly this implies the police have already carried out the obvious mot check & found it does not belong to anyone remotely like the driver of the vehicle.
Meaning what we can’t have the reg number to help out?
more scum
Because of all these cars being driven on the island that are stolen then crashed into other vehicles I have added uninsured driver to my policy so as not to lose out if I get hit by one . Too much of this going on
I seem to recall that some time ago the Police (on the mainland) had been trying to identify a car from video footage. After some months they released the video and it was identified within a few hours. Please trust the general public!
