2027 will see another edition of the Admiral’s Cup return to Cowes.
Following the outstanding success of its much-anticipated revival this year, after a hiatus of more than two decades, the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC) is delighted to announce the official dates for the next edition of the Admiral’s Cup, to be held in 2027.
In 2027, the Admiral’s Cup will take place from 15th to 30th July, once again bringing together the World’s top offshore racing teams to compete for one of the sport’s most prestigious trophies. Building on the energy and enthusiasm of the 2025 event – the first since 2003 – the RORC expects an even larger international fleet, showcasing on the water elite talent and fierce competition for the competing teams from some of the World’s most well known sailing clubs.
This year’s event also brought much needed income and trade for the Island, especially Cowes, where teams hired local venues as a base for the event and used local companies for supplies.
One Cowes trader said:
“These are my kind of people. They have brought business to Cowes and the Island. We will look forward to welcoming them back in 2027”.
Many locals got into the spirit of the event, especially the start of the Rolex Fastnet Race, when hundreds of people lined the shore from Cowes Parade to Gurnard and other Island venues.
Steve Cole, who lives in Cowes and is the Race Director commented:
“The 2025 Admiral’s Cup marked a new chapter for this historic competition. The response from sailors, teams, and supporters was extraordinary. The passion, skill, and camaraderie on display proved that the Admiral’s Cup remains the ultimate test of team racing in offshore sailing. In 2027, we intend to raise the bar even higher.”
