Isle of Wight music college Platform One has announced the introduction of a brand new course that offers real-life music industry experience to students.
The new Level 3 Music Technology Extended Diploma, which starts in September, is a full-time 2-year programme and is designed as an alternative to A Levels in a sixth form setting.
Despite the global pandemic, the world of creating music has never been busier and has never been such a viable career pathway.
The Extended Diploma offers all things music technology including studio recording, creating music for film, television and games, music production, and live events. Students will also study video editing, marketing, and promotion.
Year 2 of the course allows students to specialise on their own individual project, linked closely to progression into employment or higher education.

Potential students do not have to play a musical instrument however must have a passion for music production. The study programmme is equivalent to three full A Levels – so is ideal for progression to University degrees.
