An individual has been rushed to hospital under Police escort following an incident at a holiday park in Shanklin this evening (Saturday).
Emergency services were called to Lower Hyde Holiday Park off Landguard Manor Road shortly before 18:30.
It’s known that 1 person has been taken to St Mary’s Hospital in Newport under blue lights and sirens, with the ambulance and escorting Police car leaving Lower Hyde less than 30 minutes after arriving.
A number of officers remain in attendance outside a static caravan on the park this evening, with a number of apparent holidaymakers present too. No cordon is in place.
UPDATE SUNDAY – A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs. A second man in his 20s has been hospitalised.

Does it really need that many officers there??
The Police have to act responsibly, drug suppliers often use weapons and they were going into an unknown situation I think they did a great job, one which needs to take risk into account for everyone’s safety
