Fancy flying over the Isle of Wight and experiencing the adrenaline rush of a lifetime as you plummet 10,000 feet? Inspiration comes in many forms and a fundraising sky dive last year was so successful that Ability Dogs 4 Young People is now holding an exciting group sky dive, aptly named ‘Parachute 4 Paws’ at Sandown Airport on 26th July.
Last year Mick Pemberton’s tandem Sky Dive raised an impressive £3,000 and his excitement at the achievement was clear. Mick said afterwards:
“It was the most amazing, most exhilarating thing you could ever imagine. I can’t believe I’ve just jumped out of a plane!”
Ability Dogs 4 Young People is a unique Island charity training ability dogs to transform the lives of young people and children on the Isle of Wight with physical disabilities and/or mental disabilities including cerebral palsy, autism and epilepsy. Each Ability Dog is trained individually to meet the specific and diverse needs of their recipients. The charity also has a Therapy Dog which visits children with disabilities in their schools and care homes across the Island.
Could you muster 40 seconds of ‘insane courage’ to raise funds for an incredibly worthy cause? The total parachute jump (in tandem with a qualified parachutist) takes 4 to 5 minutes before which you will ascend to 10,000 with fantastic views of the Isle of Wight. Reaching the minimum sponsorship level could qualify you for a free Sky Dive.
