Newport IW FC fans will be encouraged to know that new manager Andy Sampson got the first proper view of his new squad for the 2015/16 season on Tuesday night) as his side beat the Newport IW Reserves 5-0 at St George’s Park.
The match purposely wasn’t advertised as it was more of a training session / fitness exercise for both teams and a chance for the managers to assess their playing squads.
Both teams played attractive, passing football in the persistent rain and although the score wasn’t important, it was the first team who came out winners on the night.
