Parking fees will be re-introduced at Maresfield Road Car Park in East Cowes in January, it has been announced.
The decision is one that was taken by the Isle of Wight’s Cabinet earlier this year and will see motorists having to pay up to £9 a day to park, with an overnight fee ranging between £1-£2.
Those deciding to park at Maresfield will have to pay using a credit or debit card as the site will be cashless. This is because it was decided that cashless would reduce the setup costs, thus making the car park more profitable.
Payment can also be made via the PaybyPhone app (location 84029).
From 3rd January, the new parking fees between the hours of 08:00-18:00 will be:
- Up to 1 hour – £1.70
- 1 to 2 hours – £2.90
- 2 to 4 hours – £4.80
- 4 to 6 hours – £6.20
- 6 to 10 hours – £9.00
In the evening, it will cost £1 to per between 18:00-08:00 on dates between 1st November and 31st March. In the Summer months, between 1st April and 31st October, it will cost £2.
All Island car parking permits will be valid at Maresfield Road, it has been confirmed.
