53-year-old Deborah Napier is to stand trial at Winchester Crown Court in November having denied the murder of Ryde resident Jolyon Wray back in June of this year.
As previously reported by Island Echo, Police were called to a basement flat at Leavington House on East Hill Road on the afternoon of Monday 13th June, where they found the body of 46-year-old Jolyon Wray with a knife penetrating through his back. A 53-year-old woman was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder, now known to be Deborah Ann Napier of Amazon Close, Basingstoke.
Appearing at Winchester Crown Court on 16th September, Napier – a mother with connections to the Isle of Wight for at least the past 30 years – denied a single charge of murder and was remanded in custody ahead of a 2-week trial on 14th November.
