Wightlink have said that due to a mechanical issue on board the St Faith, they will be operating a revised timetable on their Fishbourne-Portsmouth service on both Wednesday (12th) and Thursday (13th July).
It is not yet clear which sailing times are affected as it is not stated on Wightlink’s website.
A spokesperson for the cross-Solent operator has said:
“This action is necessary to ensure that our car ferry service is operated to the highest possible standard. We sincerely apologise sincerely for any changes to your travel plans.”
In a separate issue, Wightlink have also announced that the new walkway will remain closed to foot passengers until 17:00 tomorrow (Wednesday) in order for their teams to install the new walkway shelters.
Foot passengers can use the vehicle lane during this period.

Why didn’t Wightlink install the new walkway shelters while the walkway was built? Does Wightlink management not know how to plan projects effectively?
What a load of bullshit..Same as ever .
If you think what they’ve said is bullshit, what do you think the truth is?
They got more than 1 ferry so why do these cancellations occur
1) To save money.
2) Lack of maintenance, to save money
3) Lack of staff on call to help when an issue happens, to save money
4) Lack of planning, to save money
5) Not caring about customers, to save money
6) Brown paper envelops to government so they can continue to cut services and save money.
take your pick
You think taking a ferry out of service for maintenance, meaning spending money on that ferry, and cancelling that ferry’s crossings, meaning making no money from that ferry, will save them money?
